Production Processes of the Shinkansen trains of japan

Production Processes of the Shinkansen train

All trains are manufactured by:
Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. Rolling Stock Company

The different parts of the train:

(1)Production processes of a nose structure :
Firstly jigs are manufactured as bases for the nose structure, then its framework is assembled on to them.
Boarding processes of a nose structure
Each exterior panel is welded to the framework after bending processes.

Most of the nose structures are assembled by hand as there are fewer of them than coaches.
Exterior panels are bent by press machines and roller benders along their subtle curves.
Complicated shapes are formed by hand with hammers.

(2)Production process of a roof structure, side structures, an under-frame structure, and an end structure :

An under-frame structure after the whole assembly process is transferred to the next stage by overhead cranes

Production process of side structures
The most advanced welding machines enable us to weld longer materials.

The Series 700 Shinkansen train currently adopts double-skin structure shells made of large-scale extrusions for the most part of its body structure.

(3) Completion of a car body structure Installation of heat Insulating materials Painting process Completion of a car body structure :
The body structure of a lead car is completed by combining 6-phase structures including a nose structure.

It is painted after installing heat insulating materials to the inside of a completed body structure, applying primer paint to the exterior plates, and finishing with putty (to increase smoothness of the surface).

(4)Rigging process:
(These pictures are of the Series 700 Shinkansen train for Central Japan Railway Company)
The word "rigging" originally is a ship-building term.
It mainly indicates Interior piping, wiring, and interior fitting processes.
Electric devices, pipes, wires, and other service equipment (e.g., passenger cabin furnishings) are installed to the car body structure after painting.

(5) Completion :
-As you see, the Shinkansen train is produced with the fusion of many accumulated technologies and latest high technologies.-
