PHYSICS PRINCIPLES BEHIND THE BULLET TRAINS OF JAPAN(PART-3)

(3) SLIPPERY TRACKS :

At very high speeds, there is a possibility of derailment due to the slippery tracks caused due to rain, snow and other factors.
In the image a slippery road is created to simulate the effects same as that on the tracks, with only 4-wheels the tyre skids along the path.
ANCIENT PRINCIPLE EMPLOYED TO OVERCOME SLIPPING :
MULTI-WHEEL DRIVE
worlds first porshe multi wheel drive

Now, by attaching a trailor, the wheels are increased and hence provides better grip of roads. Hence, the slipping is eliminated.
implementation in Shinkansen :

There is a series of such bogies and each wheel is provided with a motor, therefore, implementing the multi-wheel drive. This prevents the slipping of wheels from tracks, thus preventing derailment.
